Homemade Coffee Syrups: Toasted Marshmallow and Salted Coco Hazelnut



Toasted Marshmallow Syrup

Ingredients

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
8 marshmallows
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of salt


Instructions



Toast the marshmallows:

1. Stove top method: Using metal marshmallow fork, skewer about 3 marshmallows and toast the marshmallow over flame of your stove by rotating the marshmallows until toasted. Repeat for remaining marshmallows.

2. Oven method: lay foil on making sheet and lay marshmallows in a single layer. Broil marshmallows until golden brown.

3. In saucepan combine water and sugar. Heat until sugar dissolves. Add toasted marshmallows, vanilla, and salt. Gently stir until marshmallows are completely melted. If needed, gently whisk the syrup until marshmallow lumps are smooth.

4. Allow to cool and add the syrup to your favorite coffee drink.


Salted Coco Hazelnut Syrup

Ingredients

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt


Instructions



Toast the marshmallows:

1. In saucepan, combine all ingredients (water, sugar, chocolate hazelnut spread, and salt). Heat on medium heat and gently stir until chocolate spread is dissolved.

2. Continue to heat the syrup until smooth and then remove from heat.

3. Allow to completely cool and add the syrup to your favorite coffee drink.
